My name is Jack Lok and I'm a painter, actor, author and teacher. Everything that I am comes together in my Art. I am a storyteller, a seducer, a director and a colourist. In my distopian landscapes I try to dazzle and seduce you with vast vista's and colourfull skies.

My landscapes are very artificial: They appear natural and almost recognisable and yet something is a miss. The human element is always present but never in a direct sense. It's in discarted property, in junk, stuff left behind. By leaving out the human figure the viewer becomes a participant and maybe even an accomplice. He or she is constantly pushed back and forth between the diverse layers in meaning and appearance. 

I started this line of landscape paintings in 2016 after an absence in Art for more than a decade. I'm also a fulltime highschool Art & Culture teacher, I write moviescripts and schoolplays which I also direct and last but certainly not least I'm also an actor for the Shakespeare theatre company in Diever.
